Collecting Autographs Through the Mail

The bulk of my personally obtained autographs were gotten through the mail between the years of 1979 and 1995. And then there was a brief period in 2012 through 2014 when I wrote a little over 100 fan letters. Since then, it has been the rare occasion that I have been motivated enough and successful in my attempt to get an autograph through the mail. Unfortunately, I must report that collecting autographs through the mail since the advent of eBay, conventions and other forms of commercialization has become a most difficult task.
I am not saying that it is impossible to collect autographs through the mail in the 21st century. I am just saying that it is now a whole different ball game where celebrities understand a stroke of a pen automatically equals money.
