In-Person Autographs - Denied or Not Sought

When you've been collecting autographs for as long as I have, there are several instances where I have run into a celebrity under random circumstances.  In some of those instances, I have tried for an autograph and been denied.  Or for some reason or another, I didn't even try to get one.  Here's a rundown: 

Tracy Chapman - I was either picking up or dropping off somebody at the airport in the early 90s, when I saw Tracy Chapman hugging a female, probably saying goodbye as she was about to get on a flight.  I pulled a pen and pad of paper that I had in my glove box and approached Tracy and said that I was a big fan and could I please have her autograph. I don't remember what her exact words were but she said no. I then said thought it was still a pleasure to meet such an incredible singer-songwriter and could I shake her hand. She said no to this as well,…
