Pre-Prints, Autopen and Stamps... Oh My!

Authenticating a person's signature is one thing, but determining if the item you're looking at has been personally hand-signed by them is another level of detective work. Here are some various types of autographs that you may encounter:
PRE-PRINTS - Some photos with autographs are printed with the signature in the negative or original photo. These are pretty easy to tell on the fan photos from the studios during the Golden Age, because they're often in white pen, faded or incomplete because of a bad print run or simply so obviously part of the photo's original print that there's no question. Additionally, you will see multiple examples of the exact same photo in question with the exact same signature in the exact same place. You will find this in pre-prints of the 70's forward as well.
