I think "American Psycho" is one of the worst books, but one of the greatest movies. Because of Christian Bale.  Patrick Bateman is one of the absolute BEST (and hottest) serial killers on film. 

Whether it's "Batman" or "The Machinist" or "Empire of the Sun", Christian Bale has always, Always, ALWAYS committed himself to the role. His full immersion into a role can be scary at times.  As can his onset antics as he strives for perfection.
