“The King and I” forever and ever … but before that he was SUPER hot as “Ramses” in “The Ten Commandments”.  I loved him in “Westworld” and I wrote to him when he was here in San Francisco.  As you can see, he would send the same photo throughout the years.  Note my original envelope from his manager postmarked 1981, coupled with a newspaper article about a woman who stole his shoes at a restaurant because he refused to sign an autograph.  Dying.   

 

And coincidentally, I do have the autograph of his first wife, Virginia Gilmore.  Note the look of love exchanged between them when they first married, and Yul still had a little hair. 

 

Marlene Dietrich (according to her daughter, I think) would show visitors the make-up-stained sheets of her bed and say “Yul Brynner”.  Apparently, he’d visit her New York apartment when he was performing on Broadway.  

 

If I was her, I also would’ve bragged.
