The movie was banned.  The movie was panned.  The director was shunned. 

It’s now a cult classic.

“Very Special People” when I was 13 … and the female human torso with no arms or legs playing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” on an electric mini piano (keyboard piano?) with her tongue on the Atlantic City pier.

The number of birth defects in children born of women who were given Thalidomide during pregnancy (for a variety of reasons!), resulted in the unfortunate term “Thalidomide Baby”.    

Mat Fraser has turned the perception of that term upside down and is an active multiple-threat performer and activist for the rights of disabled performers.   

He was excellent in “American Horror Story: Freak Show” and was the glue of the circus performers in a way.  I would have loved to see him onstage as Richard III in 2017 and kudos to this man for always having a full plate of projects!
