I think the aroma of cancel culture lingers around “Gone with the Wind”.  But I’m here today to talk to you about the child of Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara. 

Bonnie Blue Butler, this unfortunate child character, died of a broken neck. Lesson: Maybe four-year-olds shouldn’t be riding ponies. 

Cammie King, the child actress who played her, never appeared in another movie.  (Although she did provide the voice of Faline in “Bambi” the following year.) 

Almost a one-and-done.  But at least it was a big one.
