I think it was my dad who used to say “He thinks he’s Andretti” whenever referring to people who drove too fast.  Mario Andretti was on the periphery of my knowledge base just because of my dad saying that

As for NASCAR, I would sometimes see a brief clip on TV of speeding cars racing around a track in the same circle.  Zero interest.

Just to show how randomly my autograph collection has been accrued over the year, you'll see that I not only have the autographs of Andretti, Danica Patrick, Jimmie Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Sr. (died in a crash in The Daytona 500) but I also have Richard Petty - known as "The King of Nascar".
