I specifically remember Boz Scaggs being the soundtrack in my head when I was preening my budding sexuality poolside in Russian River, Guerneville, CA, during a family vacation.  It could have been either "Lowdown" or "Lido Shuffle" playing in my head, but I do remember it was his voice that was encouraging my confident tween strut.

Seems like everybody had his albums when I was a teenager, and he was certainly an FM staple. I never saw him in concert, but I did go to the music venue that he owned in San Francisco called Slim's. I was thrilled to see a rare U.S. performance of Shakespeare's Sister up close in that venue.

And on the floor, moshing and touching with the rest of the audience, during a performance by Annabella and Bow Wow Wow in Dember of 1997, I met a willing participant to partake in my (by-then!) full bloom sexuality.

Thank you to Boz for providing a soundtrack AND a venue for my inner freak.

I was lucky enough to find two of his autographed albums on separate occasions at thrift stores. “Down Two Then Left” for $1.50 and “Hits!” for $2.99.  I love thrifting!
